Miami Shores

Perched in Miami-Dade County, this lushly tented residential village is a small-town community located 15 to 20 minutes away from the heart of Miami, just west of Biscayne Bay and east of I-95. Originally developed during the 1920s, several prominent real estate magnates (including Major Hugh Gordon, T.V. Moore and later The Shoreland Corporation) sought to transform Miami Shores into a land lapped by Mediterranean-style estates. Today, more than a century later, Miami Shores is now a pantheon of exceptional architecture ranging from beautiful single-family homes to art deco style bungalows upon the backdrop of a family-friendly oasis. A carpet of wide tree-lined streets with Royal Palm Trees makes for the perfect destination to raise a family, where bike riding is welcome, and a bastion of child-oriented activities are spread throughout the neighborhood. Quaint and quiet, this classic suburban-like area calls home to more than 10,000 people with an active civic life, village government and the Miami Shores Police Department. Calling itself the “Village Beautiful,” buyers will find no shortage of well-maintained homes and lawns painting a picturesque lifestyle and community.

Exceptional Views of Biscayne Bay

One of the most pristine neighborhoods to invest in the real estate market, potential buyers can peruse an abundance of options varying from all different price points, with homes as low as $200,000 to upwards of $3.5 million. Known in its early days as “America’s Mediterranean,” many of the properties in Miami Shores are redolent with design features that speak to Spanish or Mediterranean influences.

And with over 3,150 residential properties to choose from, there is something for everyone to relish over, resting on both dry lots and off the water’s edge with exceptional views of Biscayne Bay and the neighborhood’s meandering canals. Miami Shores does not have a homeowner’s association, but residents can choose to pay a property association fee to support the community’s local recreational facilities and its surrounding grounds.

Encompassing just under 4 square miles, Miami Shores (outside of private residential homes) houses a plethora of restaurants, members-only clubs, charming churches and a stately park named Miami Shores Village Memorial Park. The Miami Shores Country Club offers avid golf pros a breathtaking 18-hole championship course that sits on rolling terrain with grand Oak Trees, presenting the epitome of the South Florida lifestyle. A bar and restaurant looking out onto the links comprises of high-end dining serving lunch and dinner daily with an exclusive extra-decadent brunch on Sunday. The lounge, stocked with a full bar, offers twenty-eight different types of beers and a wide collection of wines and single malt scotches.

A family friendly community, award-winning public and private schools are nearby such as Doctors Charter School Of Miami Shores, Miami Shores Elementary School, Miami Shores Montessori School and Miami Country Day School. Downtown Miami Shores, spanning from 94th Street to 101st on Northeast 2nd Avenue, offers a kaleidoscope of kid-friendly restaurants and shops, including the Chi Taekwon-DO School, The PlayGround Theatre and Brockway Memorial Library.

Miami International Airport is approximately 25 minutes away. Upper East Side, Miami Design District, Wynwood, Downtown Miami, Brickell and Aventura are nearby.
