Surfside

Welcome inside this charming beach town located just north of 87th Street and south of 96th Street. One of South Florida’s smallest communities, Surfside is representative of a quaint and quiet town while brimming with vibrant businesses and palatial resorts. Offering a combination of laidback vibes with luxurious real estate options, this sand and surf environment is ideal for those looking for a family friendly ambience or ocean-side vacation residence.

Initially incorporated in 1935, Surfside presents an array of properties built in the historic Art Deco style, with many streets named after prodigious writers and poets. A popular destination amongst literally legends, Surfside has been called home to some of the greatest writers of the twentieth century including Isaac Bashevis Singer, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978. In result of this nod to literature, 95th Street was co-named Isaac Bashevis Singer Boulevard. Smaller streets west of Harding Avenue were named after John Winslow Irving, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emerson, Lord Byron and Charles Dickens.

Recently, Surfside has been transformed into a modern pendant of cozy chic restaurants, world-class hotels and architecturally stunning buildings. Boasting a mile-long white cotton candy beach, residents can lounge by the seascape and read a book or take an afternoon stroll with family and friends amid dusk. However, what ultimately makes this neighborhood so special is its inherent history, lending homage to the wildly lavish days of the exclusive Surf Club, now reimagined into the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club. Modern contemporary buildings continue to multiply by the peaceful shore with Eighty Seven Park by Renzo Piano and the FENDI CHATEAU illustrating an architectural wonderland.

Priding itself on offering some of the top ranked schools in the state, there are a surplus of private and public schools nearby. Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, Bay Harbor Elementary, Nautilus Middle School, North Miami Beach Senior High, Montessori Academy at St Johns, Chushman School, Miami Country Day School, Lehrman Community Day School and Scheck Hillel Community School are just some of the advanced institutions located in proximity to Surfside.

The Iconic Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club

Amid the tragic stock market crash of 1929, the Mediterranean-style Surf Club arose. A balmy tropical member’s only club, The Surf Club, founded in 1930, was a haven for Hollywood starlets, international politicians and society bon vivants who were constantly looking to celebrate something fabulous. Today, The Surf Club is a time capsule of poolside fashion shows directed by Elizabeth Arden, Mohamed Reza of Iran on the tennis courts, his wife on water skis and Winston Churchill painting seascapes in his cabana. The heart and soul of Surfside, there is nowhere more imaginative to explore north of Miami Beach. And though it’s since been transformed into a luxury hotel, guests can still feel the colorful galas that took place at this elegant retreat, manifesting memories of elephants roaming cabana row and 300 tables made from ice.

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club has combined these beautiful memories with visions of the future, creating a new chapter. Home to exceptional culinary experiences such as Le Sirenuse Miami, Le Sirenuse Champagne Bar, Winston’s On The Beach, The Surf Club Restaurant, Mare by Le Sirenuse and The Terrace, guests and residents can participate in the magic of The Surf Club with undisputable haute cuisine. A white and bright cabana row and sparkling poolside along with a European spa destination allow for a picturesque space that’s dedicated to the “sea, sun and all things social.”

Exhilarating Developments

Surfside is a carpet of visionary buildings that embody ingenuity, lending for a new commentary of futuristic design. Eighty Seven Park by Pritzker award winning architect, Renzo Piano, is an elevated structure that creates a new space for design, architecture and landscape to live together. Bestowing 18 floors including the penthouse, this luxury pursuit combines the ocean with nature using raw materials representative to South Florida including oak grains and natural stone. An elevated building offering an elevated lifestyle, residents can peruse a profusion of amenities including a swimming pool with cabanas, wine cellar, all-encompassing spa and international salon.

Simplicity meets sanctuary at the FENDI CHATEAU, located steps away from Eighty Seven Park. Featuring 58 flow-through residences throughout 12 stories, the FENDI CHATEAU will present unparalleled hybrid living with 5-star white-glove service. Additional buildings that shape the Surfside community include Azure, Ocean Seven and Residences at The Surf Club – Four Seasons.

Donning six restaurants at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, residents and guests can enjoy sophisticated culinary and spirit options curated by Chef de Cuisine Antonio Mermolia, Thomas Keller and Head Bartender Valentino Longo. But Surfside’s long beloved culinary jewel box is located on Harding Avenue, presenting a wide array of restaurants including Josh’s Deli, Araxi Burger, The Carrot, Serendipity, Café Regazzi, Backyard BBQ & Brew, Rustiko, 26 Sushi & Tapas, Gourmet Temptations, Café Vert, Specchio Café and Morelia Gourmet Paletas.
